As many of you remember, Dean and his longtime partner Shawn had battled so many significant problems over the last several years, including multiple serious health issues. Recently, while Dean was in a nursing home doing rehab from his most recent hospitalization (complications from having a punctured stomach), there was a house fire at their residence. Heartbreakingly, Shawn perished in the blaze. The fire left their apartment uninhabitable; Dean has lost everything. Despite being engaged for many years, unfortunately Dean and Shawn were not legally married, which also reduces his income by half (they were both retired and on fixed incomes). Once Dean has completed his rehab from the surgery, he will need to find a new home, requiring two months' rent and security deposit. He will also have to purchase ALL his basic necessities, including clothing and household items. Renter's insurance will cover some of this, but unfortunately will fall short by a significant amount. Donations of any amount are welcomed, as are donations of gift cards to Amazon, Walmart or Target. If you are more comfortable shopping and donating items, please contact Mia Reich for a list of what is needed. Anything you can do would be very much appreciated. Dean has spent so much of his life helping others, through his job helping those recovering from addiction, his charity work distributing toiletries and outerwear to the homeless, and his countless hours spent performing, directing and mentoring those in the community theater scene in South Jersey. Let's do what we can to give back to this amazing man in his hour of greatest need!!
