Dean Geiser

Dean Geiser is a 62 year old hard working engineer who works away from home a month at a time.

Anyone who knows Dean knows how much he loves life, his family, especially his grand children and his many friends. He would give anyone the shirt off of his back.

He has been fighting Leukaemia for the last 15 years and has been doing well with it.

However last year he started having trouble with his eye watering. After many eye appointments and seeing many different doctors and his eye getting much worse. We finally made it to London Victoria hospital where he’s been diagnosed with Rapid moving basal cell carcinoma. Every doctor , surgeon and specialist he has been to have never seen this type of rapid cancer before or the area it is in.

He now has a hole in the corner of his eye and it has gone into his nasal cavity and now presents itself in the bone between his eye socket and his brain. He has blurred vision in that eye and it hardly opens. He has constant headaches and eye pain which is excruciating. He has dizzy spells and no longer drives. So he depends on his wife Jillian to do the driving to appointments and every day needs. The doctors have ruled out surgery and radiation at this point. They want to start him on immunal therapy which is very expensive.

One month of the drug is $11,000. And he needs 4-5 months worth in order to shrink the cancer. Then there will be surgery and possibly radiation after that.

Dean is currently off work right now and will be for a long time.

There will be lots of expenses for the family from medication to parking at the hospital to gas to drive him to his appointments. To hospital stay and meals.
