Dealing with Ray's Debt
Well, upside down world continues. I have been unable to find gainful employment for a long long while and I have a medical debt from a long while back. The clinic immediately put it with a lawyer to collect it and they served me with papers. I made payments as I could over about two years or so... but it didn't really make a dent.
Once COVID hit, my financial reserves were just depleted and this attorney is AMPED about getting a judgement against me. He finally did - rushed the El Paso County Court into issuing a default judgement against me, one that he has told me he will use to "take everything I've ever owned"
I have tried to talk to a few lawyers of my own, seeing if I can get some sort of legal help - but legal aid attorneys in Colorado don't wanna do DICK apparently. So, holding the service papers - I am not sure what to do, outside the crazy and insane.
I guess what all this TL:DR stuff is about is that I...need $1055.40 so that this attorney doesn't come with the sheriff and take everything I own. If I liquidate everything I own, it likely would not generate the money and they would just want more - and I would be utterly destitute. If (miracles allowing) I end up significantly over what is needed to stop this judgement and satisfy this debt - I will use what's left to pay less pressing but important debts I've got. This will allow me to continue the volunteer work I've been doing in lieu of employment since my Jan 2019 hospitalization knocked me out of the workforce.
