Deakin Onyx is an All-Girl hip hop team who formed in 2015, made up largely of novice dancers who were new to the style of Hip Hop. In June 2015 the team won at their first competition, and the girls set their sights firmly on the World Dance Championships in Orlando, Florida in April 2016.

The World Dance Championships is a prestigious invite only event with teams hand picked from around the world to compete. At Nationals in November 2015, eight months after the team was formed, Deakin Onyx were awarded a bid to Dance Worlds 2016.
Since then, the members of Onyx have been busy preparing for the tough and exciting challenge ahead of them. To represent Deakin Cheerleading Club, Deakin University and Australia at Worlds is a dream come true for these girls. The financial undertaking for 15 dancers to take the world stage in America is huge and we are asking for your support.
There are a number of costs associated with representing Australia at a World competition. Financial contributions will go towards competition registration fees, training fees, and uniforms. If you are able to assist the team with these costs please donate below.
