My name is Greta Davey, I am one of the 17 Ontario Deaf athlete and a member of the Deaf Team Canada Women’s volleyball team selected to compete in Deaflympics in Tokyo, Japan on November 15-26.

There is a fundraising campaign has been launched from my Provincial Deaf Sports Association for the 17 Deaf athletes in Ontario. Many of my friends, colleagues, and family preferred to directly support me & my financial expense needs towards to my volleyball journey to Deaflympic, I decided to launch a GoFundMe.

I am fundraising to pay the fee of my trip to Deaflympics, volleyball attires, training camps. The whole cost of the trip to Japan Deaflympics will be between $6,700-$7,500. Canadian Deaf Sports Association will be matching the half of the price (50/50 or 40/60) of the trips fee to Deaflympics while I’m paying the other half out of my pocket which is between $3,375-$4,500.

Every little bit helps a lot in the long run. I am very excited to experience and honoured to represent the maple leaf in my very first Deaf Olympics on a world stage.
