On December 18, 2024 Deadra was diagnosed with Rectal cancer (11 cm mass and thoughts that it could be stage 3). Due to an unbelievable battle with her insurance she hasn’t been able to start treatment. The insurance refuses to cover chemotherapy or radiation and now they have denied a PET Scan. Meanwhile, her doctors, social workers and personal friends have been fighting insurance on this daily. She has received a medical card, however, that is secondary and won’t pay for the PET Scan unless her primary insurance approves it. Deadra can’t start full treatment until this scan is done. On top of that, she filed for short term disability but, she hasn’t been able to collect it because they are requiring a PET Scan to stage her cancer. This means that Deadra hasn’t had income since she was rushed to the hospital in December. If this PET Scan isn’t done by January 25, 2025 she will not be granted short term disability. Deadra is a shining light for so many and continues to be one despite being in a fight for her life. We are asking you to pray that the Lord’s will be done and we need your help to make this PET Scan happen for Deadra.
