Hi, I’m Gayle Buske, and I’m still alive — which is something I couldn’t confidently say six months ago.

Back then, I truly didn’t think I’d survive to see summer. But I’m still here, getting stronger every day, thanks to dialysis, determination, and YOU.

I’m fighting Polycystic Liver and Kidney Disease, a brutal hereditary condition that has claimed lives in my family for generations. My kidneys are non-functioning, and my liver is so enlarged it's compressing my lungs and heart. I’m currently undergoing home hemodialysis four days a week — it’s a full-time job just staying alive.

But I’m doing it. I’m HERE.

This isn’t just about surviving anymore — it’s about creating something bigger than me.

I’ve launched Transplant Expeditors, a support system for others walking this same terrifying path. From fundraising guidance to donor outreach, I’m using everything I’ve learned — the hard way — to help save others who are still in the thick of it.

My first group transplant fundraiser is already underway. The mission is growing.

But I can’t keep building this while also trying to survive on one paycheck. I had to stop working in January. I’ve exhausted FMLA, FAMLI, and have no disability income. We are running on fumes — and your support is the only reason we’ve made it this far.

My mother, Lois, survived thanks to a double transplant in 1998.

Now, at 54, it’s my turn to fight for that same chance.

And my daughter, Madison, just 30, is already preparing for what lies ahead.
