Dead for 22 minutes but still kicking
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Etta Turner and I'm fundraising for my son, Kenneth Turner. On August 11, 2023 my son had a widowmaker heart attack while at work, and what he did next still boggles my mind. He walked over 700 feet from his job to the emergency room. He officially died for 22 minutes, but the good Lord had other plans for him and the fantastic doctors at Candler Hospital brought my son back to life. They sedated him for over 5 weeks and in that time he had to be placed on a breathing machine, he got Pneumonia (TWICE), his kidneys failed, which meant he had to go on dialysis, and he contracted a bacterial infection in his lungs. The fact that my son is even alive is a true miracle, but he still has a long road to recovery and needs some help. He was very lucky that he still has complete brain function, but his muscles and body atrophied during the five weeks of sedation. He has to relearn to walk and train his body just for basic necessities, but my boy is a fighter. He spent 7 years in the army and the last 12 years working for the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion. He has dedicated his entire adult life to either serving his country or helping sick people. I've always been proud of him, but watching him struggle to live has been hard on our entire family. So I started this Gofund to help ease some of the burden on his life. If you can donate please give whatever you can, but if you can't please share my son's story. Nine different doctors told me he was a miracle, so he's already beat the odds and with all the bad news in the world it's nice to see a good guy win. Thank you and God Bless.
