Assist Rachel's Family in Their Time of Need

My name is Rachel Goldman, my friends know me as Rae. This morning, I received a phone call that no one wants. My father Jens Nicolaisen passed away. My parents have no savings and no insurance. I went with my mom to the funeral home and we were informed that the full cost needs to be paid the day of the service. Which we hope to schedule for either Thursday or Friday of next week, depending on when my siblings can come from out of state.

My Dad met my mom when he was serving in the Navy (1970) at Great Lakes Naval Base. He only served two years and when we called the VA to find out if there was any type of assistance they could offer, the woman we spoke to couldn't find his records.

My parents were married 55 years and tomorrow would have been his 75th birthday. Together they raised five kids and buried one.
