Blackfeet Indian School - Mission Trip

We are Griffin and JT Killeen, two high school students, planning a mission trip to the De Le Salle Blackfeet School on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, Montana.

We have planned a 5-day mission trip July 24-28, 2023 and all the money we raise will go directly to the De La Salle Blackfeet School to support the school and students. We have organized an opportunity to work on various projects at the school and within the Blackfeet Indian community.

Browning, MT is located in one of the poorest counties in the US, with per capita income on the reservation less than $12,000. There are few facilities for youth, and little opportunity for them to engage in positive social activities. The reservation has one of the highest high school dropout rates of the reservations in Montana.

The De La Salle Blackfeet School provides quality education for students in elementary and middle school. The actual cost for one student is $13,500, with a tuition cost of $500, so fundraising is fundamental to the school.

This mission trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, allowing us to make a difference in the lives of the children who attend De La Salle Blackfeet as well as all those of the Blackfeet Nation who rely on the good works of those that help serve them. An important aspect of the trip will also be to immerse ourselves in the history, culture, and challenges of the Blackfeet people.
