De Celis family aid
My dad worked as a full-time truck driver providing for the family. Last, march during the pandemic while driving in the US, my dad suddenly couldn’t feel his legs and realized there was something wrong. After parking his truck, he tried to stand up and realized he had lost all feeling in his legs. Upon trying to stand up, he fell to the ground. The hospital wasn’t an option since he was in the US so he had to wait 16 hours in a snowstorm for help. In those 16 hours, he feared losing his life and told my mom that if he died, he was sorry that he wouldn’t be there for us anymore.
Luckily, my dad was rescued and finally rushed to the hospital. But as a result, my dad experienced a stroke and lost function in his legs. For months now, my dad has been working hard every day to rehabilitate himself back to health. His positivity and drive is nothing short of inspiring. We hope that all his hard work pays off.
Sadly, my parents are quickly climbing into debt and although my mom tries to work, she's limited to how many hours she can because she needs to take care of my dad. My father was the primary breadwinner of our family. I help my parents as much as I can but their debt outweighs anything that I can offer. My mom picked up multiple shifts as a housekeeper but she also needs to be at home to help my father gain his health back.
We all contribute as much as we can to help our parents financially but my parents are quickly drowning in debt. Both my dad and my sister applied for CERB and unfortunately did not qualify for it. My dad wasn't approved for critical condition either so he has no financial aid of any sort.
It is unlike my family to ask for any help but we now have no choice. If you can't donate, even a share within your social network could really help.
We appreciate any amount given and every post shared.
All money raised will be applied to debts owed.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
