Ollie is our 11-year-old rescue dog, best friend, and family member. We rescued him when he was just two months old. Shortly after bringing him home, we were told by his new doctor not to get too attached because he likely would not live to see seven months old due to a severe heart murmur, which is now only graded a 1 or 2 out of 6. Eleven years and three months later, Ollie is still here - still stubborn, still full of personality, and still proving that prediction wrong every single day! ❤️ Over the years, he has been by our side through some of the hardest moments of our lives, and I truly owe a lot of my sanity to him.

After an MRI on April 21, 2026, Ollie was diagnosed with a trigeminal nerve tumor. We first noticed muscle atrophy on the right side of his face and brought him in for testing, which ultimately led to his diagnosis. We met with Dr. Mendez at LSU Oncology on May 5th, 2026, and were told that without treatment, the tumor will continue to grow and eventually take away his ability to see out of his right eye, eat, and drink. We were also told he likely has between three and six good-quality months to live without treatment.

The good news is that Ollie is otherwise healthy, and multiple doctors (the four we have seen since April 20th) agree he is a strong candidate for radiation treatment. While the cancer cannot be cured, treatment is expected to stop progression and allow him to continue living a happy, comfortable life for several more years (these tumors typically do not recur for at least three to four years after treatment).

His treatment plan includes a CT scan followed by five consecutive days of radiation therapy at LSU Veterinary School. The estimated cost is between $8,052.50 and $9,029.75, which is far beyond what we can afford on our own. We are asking for help to give Ollie the chance at life he deserves.
