My father, Steve has been out of work since getting sick in May of 2020. During this time he was also caring for my mother, Debra since her open-heart surgery in October of 2021. Him and my mother were still making ends meet, just barely, with his Navy retirement check and my mother’s disability check. My mother just passed, however, and my father has been worrying and trying to work out how he can keep his bills paid, at least for the next six months until he becomes eligible for full social security. My husband and I are expecting and can only help so much, and are hoping to find support for my family in these difficult times. Please help me to ensure my father can grieve the loss of his wife without financial worries.
