Hi all, my name is Samira and I am reaching out to ask for help to raise funds to cover funeral expenses and to create a lasting tribute that reflects the incredible person that my cousin Alexis Casas was.

Alexis was a remarkable individual whose sudden absence has left a void in our hearts and has deeply affected her family, friends and everyone that knew her. She was only 24 years of age and had so much life left to live. Her spirit of kindness, compassion, selflessness, simplicity, and ever-present smile touched everyone she met.

Unfortunately, Alexis contracted severe dengue in the Philippines last week, which required urgent medical care and she was rushed to the ICU. She battled kidney failure and sepsis as a result, which required her to undergo dialysis and various other treatments. She was surrounded by her nearest and dearest during her week long battle to survive. Unfortunately, due to the immense pressure for her body to fight the severe infection, it ultimately resulted in organ failure.

Alexis was the kindest soul and a beautiful daughter, sister, family member and a great friend to many. She will be hugely missed by all who knew and loved her. We are beyond heartbroken to receive such horrible news. As we bid farewell to this beautiful soul, we invite you to join us in honouring Alexis’s memory and supporting her family during this difficult time.
