Fighting ALS

Hello everyone. As some of you know a few months ago my father was diagnosed with ALS. (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) It seemed to come on suddenly and it took months to get a confirmed diagnosis. My father who is the strongest man I know is now struggling to do everyday things. This disease has now affected his speech, taken away his mobility and completely altered his life. This disease has no cure, it progressively gets worse with time, and unfortunately takes the lives of so many people. My father is currently living in Portugal, his wife has quit her job and has become his full time caregiver. They have two children between them and then my brother and I here in the states. The medical care he needs is extremely expensive. He will need an electrical wheel chair (he currently had a standard wheelchair that was donated), eye gaze computer (this will allow him to communicate once his speech is completed gone),and eventually breathing and feeding care. They will also have to make adjustments to their home to make everything wheelchair accessible. He is currently in speech and physical therapy several times a week and under the care of some great doctors. Unfortunately, the care he now requires is not fully covered. I decided to set this up to try to get as much financial help as possible for them and to help alleviate some of the stress they are facing. Maybe together we can help him get the care he deserves. If you find it in your heart please consider donating and please keep him in your prayers.
Please share. From my family, thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
