Australian Red Cross Bushfire Appeal
The Australian AlayaCare team have setup two GoFundMe pages to raise funds for the Red Cross and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for the ongoing bushfire crisis currently raging through Australia. These bushfires have been ravaging Australia for the last 5 months and with no rain in sight, this is expected to continue throughout the summer for the next 2-3 months.
The current state of the Australian crisis so far:
- 5.5 million hectares of land has been burned with a large portion of fires still out of control.
- 24 people have been confirmed dead, with many more feared missing.
- 500M animals have perished, including over 20,000 koalas (30% of the koala population).
- 1400 homes have already been lost with many more in immediate danger.
The money from this fundraiser will be donated to assist the Red Cross in supporting Australians affected by the fires and the WWF to assist with the care of our injured wildlife and help restore their homes once the fire clears.
Any money you are able to donate would be greatly appreciated as it is much needed during this crisis.
