This is my uncle Chris. On June 2, 2024 he was diagnosed with leukemia and was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL where he was further diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Lukemia. What was initially thought to be a cold or flu is turning into a long battle for him and his family. Chris is currently at UAB where he begins chemotherapy treatments tomorrow. And possibly a bone marrow transplant in the near future. As of now, doctors have told him and his wife, Kara, to expect to be an in house patient at UAB for 30 days.
Chris is an avid Elba Tiger football and baseball fan as his son Keaton played sports until his graduation from high school this past May. He can also be seen on the sidelines during football season supporting his step-daughter, Stella, and the Elba Marching Tiger Band.
He is a very active member of his community. He loves to coach little league football, basketball and baseball, which his son ,Jace, plays.
Chris is so much more than a husband and father. He is a favorite friend, brother-in-law and uncle; always stepping in when his nephew, Jacob, and niece, Liza needed a father figure to support them.
As he faces these challenges ahead with treatment and recovery, Chris will be unable to work, which is putting a strain on his family and finances.
We are asking for your support to help him and his family get through this unexpected journey. Thank you, in advance, for any help you give whether it be $1 or simply praying for Chris and his family.
***Many have asked what can they do to help and right now the most immediate need would be to help financially with expenses traveling to and from since they will be cut down to one income and most importantly Prayers. They both are very grateful for all of the prayers and any assistance they have received thus far.***
