Dana's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Danielle. I met Dana years ago thru a Facebook group! She has been the greatest friend for me, but I know also for many others. 2 other friends, Dartland Dicken and Danielle Davis are on her support team with me and we all agreed we should do this for our friend. She is a young Mom to a sweet babygirl named Cass. Unfortunately, Dana's tongue Cancer has come back. She is currently in surgery. Here's some information she posted about her condition a few weeks ago:
"I'll be having about half of my tongue removed and reconstructed using skin, tissue, and an artery most likely from my forearm. Then that site will need a graft, most likely from my thigh. I'll be in the hospital for about 2 weeks after surgery, and will also have a tracheostomy, a feeding tube placed in my abdomen, and a wound vac on the forearm site. I will also be having some lymph nodes removed from both sides of my neck. I'm also looking at radiation therapy on my neck a few weeks after surgery. Since this is a recurring cancer, it has to be treated aggressively so it doesn't return. Since it was caught so early, it's probably not metastasized."
As you've read, our friend has quite the road to recovery ahead and needs all the prayers, love and support during this journey. Anything you can give to help keep her stress free to maximize recovery is appreciated. All funds will go directly to Dana to be used for anything she needs such as travel costs to appointments, food, housing costs, and needs that Cass may have also. Dana switched jobs recently so she's not fully covered for time off under her new employer, but they are working diligently with her to support her the best they are able to. If you can't contribute monetarily, you can always send her a note of encouragement at the following link:
