D-Day 75
Donation protected
This summer, Historic Flight will fly its Douglas C-47B from Seattle to Normandy to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the greatest military operation of all time, D-Day.
On June 6, 1944, in the dead of night, 13,100 airborne troops jumped into Nazi-occupied France. Sgt. Myron G. Sessions of the 101st Airborne Division, 501st Paratroop Infantry Regiment, Charlie Company, saw his silk chute open at 1:27 a.m., five hours before the invasion began.
John Sessions, Chief Pilot and Founder of Historic Flight, and his brother Major Michael Sessions, USMC, Ret., with over 600 jumps, will honor their father 75 years later to the day by retracing his journey across the English Channel.
Join the mission!
