D&D to save veterans!

The Dungeonroos is organizing this fundraiser to benefit Soldier On LTD.

Who are we, and who am I?

My name is Royce, and I am an ex-serving soldier. I am also the Games Master (GM) or Dungeon Master (DM) for The DungeonRoos. The DungeonRoos are a local Dungeons and Dragons gaming group with a very close connection to the Australian Army. Two of our members are ex-army, and one is currently serving. We are all united by two common goals. First is the game, and second is our desire to end veteran suicide.

Why Veteran Suicide?

We all know someone who has been affected by someone who has suicided or attempted it. Suicide in the ADF and the ex-ADF community is higher than that of the Australian general public.

How are we doing this?

The DungeonRoos record a regular podcast (available on Spotify), and on the 8th of October, We will record a One-shot adventure set in a post-apocalyptic Australia (somewhat akin to mad max) where I will be playing a Heavy Metal Bard (musician). My bard is modelled on a thrash metal guitarist I idolised as a young man, Darrel Lance Abbot (AKA Dimebag Darrel - Pantera, Damageplan). One of Dimebag's signature looks was his Pink Goatee!

Since leaving the Army, I have allowed myself to grow a beard, and in memory of such a talented legend, should we reach this goal of $3000 for Soldier On, I will also dye my beard pink for the game. (Pictures will be posted on our Facebook page for your viewing pleasure and excellent comments!)

Where are we at?
