DCSC - Support our programming for Spring 2024 and beyond!

Celebrating spring and the flowering of planted seeds -

One of my goals in launching the DC Singer Collective was to try out a more flexible way of programming and collaborating so that through knowledge and resource sharing, singers in the DC metro area could encourage one another as artists to stretch our wings and bring our visions to life. The start up costs, both financial and emotional, for individual artists looking to get involved in creative programming or other aspects outside of performing can be prohibitively high, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic - I’m thrilled that we can be a part of bringing down those barriers.

We are launching this fundraiser both to spread awareness of two fantastic programs we have coming up, as well as to celebrate the work we’ve done so far and the work we hope to do. From “Our Favorite Things” to community outreach exploring the mind-body connection through chant by Hildegard, we have been able to do so much thanks to the support of our community (that includes you!). There's much we hope to begin to do, including surveying our community to determine what programming would be most impactful that we could provide, particularly for early career artists.

We plan to use funds raised both to fairly compensate our artists for the projects we’re presenting this spring and to help us ‘get over the hump’ of applying for nonprofit status and beginning to apply for grants and other institutional support. As always, thank you for your generosity!

Happy Spring,
-Genevieve and the members of DCSC
