Help Sandy with her journey through recovery.
Six months ago, Sandra Marshall Frazzetto from Nissequogue NY, suffered a severe brain aneurysm rupture. She is one of my most known, kindhearted souls, and we are blessed to call her our friend and family.
Sandy has spent months in the hospital having endured many life-sustaining surgical procedures, treatments and therapies. During her time there, she has fought through multiple unrelated challenges that arose, many of which were driven by her extended stay and outweighing her original injury. Each day the care became less about healing her neurologically and more to do with new complications.
Her husband Peter and daughters knew a stronger care plan was needed. It was decided to follow Sandy’s continued “will to fight” and her known wish, which was to “get her home to her sanctuary”. Ultimately, the hospital saved her life, but the plan of care began to veer off course. The focus of treatment for necessary neurological and therapeutic recovery, transitioned to that of pain management, infections and skin issues. With that, Sandy arrived home on August 2nd and is now getting 24/7 care by highly skilled nurses and not covered by insurance, but best for her recovery. This is along with an outside healthcare agency, often a fraction of what is needed to provide around-the-clock skilled care needed for recovery. Her healing from prior debilitating issues due to her long hospital stay has become the primary issue following her discharge. Sandy is working hard, receiving amazing care and nutrition, and her healing is progressing at an amazingly rapid pace, because she’s a fighter, and always has been!
Phase 2 after healing wounds, will be long-term rehabilitation. The rehab plan required will be just as aggressive as the healing plan, and must be well beyond what insurance will provide. As you can imagine, the cost for private skilled 24hr nursing care, PT, OT, machines, and medical supplies add up fast and mostly been out-of-pocket by Peter. Sandy deserves for all of us to fight with her and allow Peter and her daughters to continue the unwavering commitment put forth. Sandy is fighting for herself, and we can fight along with her with your support. We want “Team Sandy” and the level of care to continue to evolve so that she has every resource available to recover. Sandy has every chance, both neurologically and physically, to be a shining sparkly part of all our lives once again. She’s the fighter we all know and has not shown us differently through all this.
Sandy’s husband Peter and daughters have gone above and beyond to provide Sandy with everything possible to give her the best care possible. If you can, I am asking for help along with blessings for our friends, our family, Sandra, Peter and their children, to get through this difficult time. Thank you.
