Our Blog for the trip

L’Arche is intentional communities of people, with and without developmental disabilities, sharing life in communities belonging to an International Federation. Mutual relationships and trust in God are at the heart of our journey together. We celebrate the unique value of every person and recognize our need of one another

With the funds that we will be collecting it is our hope to journey to Queretaro, learn more about their community, culture and learn about L’Arche (El Arca) in Mexico. We will be participating in their celebration of the jubilee of L’Arche International and helping to announce L’Arche in the larger community of Queretaro. A portion of the monies collected will be used for travel expenses, all other monies will help support the community celebration of L’Arche in Queretaro as well has help to offset the costs of them hosting our stay. We bring our experience from our home community of L’Arche Tacoma and deepen in relationship through sharing our lives together. We have started a blog (queretaropilgrimage.blogspot.com) for people to follow our pilgrimage and increase the awareness of L’Arche in Mexico as well as Latin America. Our twinned relationship with Queretaro began in 2007, since this we have hosted their community leader and sent one of our assistants down to experience their community. This is the first time a core-member from our region will be traveling and we hope to develop a tradition of exchange between the L’Arche Western Region and that of the Queretaro Community. We have been in relationship with their community for over 8 years
