Alma’s fight

On behalf of my family, I want to share the story of our sister, Alma.

In 2013, Alma’s journey began with a diagnosis of thyroid cancer, followed by surgery and radioactive iodine treatment. Alma beat it.

In 2018, cancer returned as papillary thyroid carcinoma, a more aggressive form of the disease. In 2019, she underwent a radical neck dissection surgery. Since then, Alma has lived with chronic, constant pain, bearing this silent burden with incredible strength.

Today, Alma is fighting another battle: hypoglycemic encephalopathy (swelling in her brain). Since Monday, she has been in the intensive care unit, unconscious and unresponsive, and her diagnosis remains reserved.

Medical expenses increase by the minute, and we know that the care Alma will need after leaving the hospital will bring even more financial hardship to our family.

Every contribution, every prayer, every act of kindness is a source of strength for Alma and for our family.
