To all of our family, friends and close ones, we have decided to publicly reach out & share our story about our beloved furbaby Moose. He is a year&half young beagle and we discovered a couple of tumors on his neck at the end of November 2024. We spent the holidays getting them removed & tested, in which we found out that the tumors were cancerous; the type of tumors are commonly known as a Soft Tissue Sarcoma (STS) intermediate grade. He went through 3 surgeries during the end of 2024 & going into the beginning of the year; We have been letting him heal since he is finally scarring from the surgery incisions, but removing the tumors was not enough. Unfortunately the tumors were deep rooted and there is still what are called tendrils that have been left behind located by his shoulder blades, almost reaching his spine. His doctors removed as much of the tumors as their eyes could possibly see, but he has had a couple CT scans and the tumor root remains, and the doctors are sure he has microscopic cancer cells that the naked eye cannot see based off the tumors that were sent to be tested. The margins that are needed to remove the remaining cancer cells are what we are after. The surgeons and Oncology team at Gulf Coast believe at this point due to the numerous surgeries that Moose has already undergone in that area that its a higher risk to doing damage to the surrounding area. We have been praying for his healing and have been so blessed that he has healed well, but now we need to take further necessary actions to completely remove the remaining cancer with Radiation Therapy sessions. All of this has been quite costly, but his dad has not even thought twice about any of the decisions concerning money. This gofundme would help us fund his upcoming 18 day full course radiation therapy treatment which I will be attaching his hospital expenses for review. Since his hospital is in Houston we have to make a 5hour drive to drop him off beginning monday & pick him up on friday and repeat this cycle until april 17th. We don’t usually ask for help and of course we trust in God to take care of us and give us the resources we need, but we also know we can’t just expect it all to happen on its own, and well, we need to do our part and ask for help when we know it is needed. It doesnt hurt to ask. Anything at all helps, whether it be a dollar or sharing this with your family, friends or loved ones who are able and willing to help us out, it would be greatly appreciated. Prayers are always needed we will keep you updated on Moose and his progression during and post recovery; as of now he is still active & playful most days, but sometimes he sleeps for hours and it makes us concerned that he is becoming worn out from his conditions. I have attached the level of care that is needed for him along with the financial estimates. We will be updating frequently on his status of health & we have created a TikTok for Moose (@moose.dagull) if you’d like to watch as we begin this medical journey together. God bless & Thank you in advance!
