In April of 2020, Johnny’s father was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5. He had to start doing Periodontal Dialysis early in May at home which helped his kidneys to function, but was unable to regain his full strength. He also no longer had the strength to do things on his own and needed the additional support from Johnny and his family. Johnny was the primary caretaker for his father and helped him with his dialysis and taking him to doctor’s appointments. This used up most of Johnny’s sick time. Later in the year, on December 4th, Johnny’s father tested positive for COVID-19. This made his battle even harder as his kidneys were failing and no longer functioning as they should. After he fought very long and hard, on December 19, 2020, Johnny’s father passed away. He was a very strong person fighting his disease, but when he got COVID-19, there was just nothing they could do to help. It was very hard for Johnny and his family to watch his father suffer. The Vang family is left with grief from the loss of Johnny’s father along with funeral expenses and responsibilities that came as the result. Any help would be appreciated.
