On October 9th, 2020 Devontae Carson, Known as DC to friends and family, was involved in a serious car accident. DC was knocked unconscious and had to be removed from his car by some bystanders. The injuries suffered in the accident included a dislocated hip, which is being monitored by doctors, and broken bones near his hip, which may require that he have hip surgery. Additionally, he also suffered a broken left toe, and severe chest contusions. DC was hospitalized for a week and will require physical therapy. His doctors project that it will take 6 months to a year for him to make a full recovery.
DC is now at home with a long road to recovery. His car was totaled, and due to his injuries, he is unable to work. This is an example of bad things can happen to good people. DC is struggling both mentally and physically as a result of the trauma he has been through as a result of this tragic accident. Those of you that know DC realize that he is a positive person who focused his education and career on serving the needs of others. He has been working as a mental health counselor/therapist serving those who are struggling with addictions. People close to DC or who have met him know that he is genuine, kindhearted, and an upbeat person always willing to help others.
DC is now in need of our help. The aftermath of the accident has left him with medical bills that exceed his coverage limits, the need for legal representation, stress related to the trauma of having been involved in such a serious accident, and uncertainty related to his future. We realize how difficult these times are for everyone given the pandemic and all the social issues that face us today. DC is a positive force performing work that serves others and helps improve their quality of life. The family is asking that you please consider making a donation -of any amount- as it is extremely appreciated. We also ask that you keep him in your prayers.
