Dear All,
Have you heard of KABOOM Playground Project at Harmony DC Public Charter School?
Many of our friends are part of this exciting new community project and now we are here to ask for your support too!
Harmony DC PCS is home to Kindergarten through 5th grade students in Ward 5 of Washington DC. This is an important transition time for all students as they move from children to young adults. These school years offer them their last opportunity to still be kids before moving on to middle school.
However, recess at Harmony DC is not what it is supposed to be because there is no playground. It is not much fun without a playground and, frankly, simply needs one.
Our school applied and was granted KABOOM Playground Project recently. KaBOOM creates great places to play, inspires communities to promote and support play, and works to drive the national discussion about the importance of play in fostering healthy and productive lives. Thanks to KABOOM and Marriot International, Inc., our students here at Harmony will entertain a brand-new, eco-friendly playground. In support of the project, our community must contribute $10,000 to the KABOOM, which will apply the funds directly to the purchase of the equipment. Our built day is May 24, 2017.
