DC Football Team Sideline Coat Fundraiser

Our young athletes face challenges today that we didn’t face just twenty short years ago.

It is increasingly difficult to find authentic models of what it means to be a man or a woman. Students are bombarded with false images of masculinity and femininity from movie stars and politicians and sports heroes. What they often see leaves them wondering what it means to be a man or a woman, and what it takes to become an adult who will be successful on the field of competition, and in life beyond the playing field.

At Dayton Christian High School, we believe that sports present a unique opportunity to develop young men and women, because the same character traits that make successful athletes also help make successful men and women.

OUR PURPOSE
 
Dayton Christian Football exists to develop men of empathy, integrity, and excellence, who will live for a purpose greater than themselves and will make a positive impact on their community and their world. If we succeed, our next generation of men will be prepared to face the increasing challenges which life will present them.

OUR MISSION
 
We are a fraternity of adults dedicated to Building Champions and Winning Championships.  We will run a first-class football program building top-notch football skills, and we will model and cultivate character by teaching the Way of the Warrior, the core values of our programs, helping our students grow towards manhood. The team will be evaluated on wins and losses, but the true success of our program will be measured years from now by the types of fathers, husbands, workers, and citizens they have become

OUR CULTURE
 
These are the values of our culture, which we will call the Way of the Warrior.  We will teach them to our players and we will model them in our lives.  These behaviors will enable our boys to become successful football players and successful men.

“Southeastern head coach Evan Gallaugher had high praise for Dayton Christian who, despite just coming off a playoff loss, still prayed with the Panthers and congratulated them after the game.

“I think the biggest thing is what happened after the game when we kind of all gathered together,” Gallaugher said. “We might be fierce competitors on the field but after the game we’re all kind of fighting for the same cause. We’re all young men and that was special. Coach Ken Moyer and his staff do a great job. They were very respectful kids and the sportsmanship that was displayed tonight in a first-round playoff game was something I’ve never seen before.””

OUR GOAL

We have set a goal to raise $3000 this year to purchase 40 capes to keep the players warm during the games. One generous individual has already given $1500 towards this, leaving us only needing $1500 to meet our goal! Any amount raised over this will go towards putting on our Way of the Warrior ceremony, where we challenge our young athletes to live as Godly men!
