HELP JUANA TO WIN THE BATTLE AGAINST BREAST CANCER
In November 2012, Juana Guzman Pichardo went to a medical check-up for inflammation in her left breast, so they recommended a biopsy, and by January 16th 2013, she was diagnosed with one of the worst news that a woman can receive: she has breast cancer.
Her diagnosis was grade 2, poorly differentiated infiltrating ductal carcinoma, left breast.
After that, Juana began a series of cancer treatments to shrink the tumor.
In June 2015, her left breast was removed, continuing treatment for local recurrence.
In May 2018, Juana is newly diagnosed, this time with cancer in the right breast and axillary nodes.
Once again in cancer treatments, and for January 2019, the second mastectomy is performed.
Today, our dear friend Juana has a recurrence again in the mastectomy area, so she needs to undergo a treatment which is very expensive and she does not have the resources to pay for said treatment.
Her economic situation and her family, makes dealing with this disease very difficult and even more so with the crisis that has been generated by the pandemic caused by Covid-19, it is impossible to pay for the treatment to be carried out in order to survive this sickness.
Each chemotherapy session has an approximate cost of US$100 (without counting the chemotherapy drugs).
The cost of treatment every 21 days is approximately US$4,677.22.
The cost of treatment for one year is approximately US$57,326.64.
When we hear the word "Cancer" we are terrified, not only by the disease itself, but by how expensive the treatments are.
We never think that this disease can be so close to our friends and loved ones. It is said that 1 in 8 women will have breast cancer throughout their lives, this time it has been my dear friend Juana's turn.
Juana Guzman Pichardo, is 55 years old, has 3 children with whom she lives in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Apart from working as a Secretary, Juana has always dedicated herself to teaching classes to children and young people with limited economic resources, today life has taken a great turn, and she is in need today.
Even with all these inconveniences Juana is willing to continue fighting and she is eager to heal and live, and I am sure that with your support we can help her win the battle against Breast Cancer.

En el mes de noviembre de 2012, Juana Guzmán Pichardo fue un chequeo médico por una inflamación en el seno izquierdo, por lo que le recomendaría hacerse una biopsia, y por el 16 de enero de 2013, fue diagnosticada con una de las noticias peores que una mujer puede recibir: tiene Cáncer de mamá.
Su diagnóstico fue Carcinoma ductal infiltrante pobremente diferenciado grado II, mama izquierda.
Luego de eso, Juana comenzó una serie de tratamientos oncológicos para disminuir el tumor.
En junio de 2015, le fue extirpado el seno izquierdo, siguiendo en tratamiento por recurrencia local.
En mayo de 2018, Juana es nuevamente diagnóstico, esta vez con cáncer en el seno derecho y ganglios axilares.
Nueva vez en tratamientos oncológicos y para enero de 2019, se le practica la segunda mastectomía.
Hoy en día, nuestra querida amiga Juana tiene recurrencia nueva vez en el área de la mastectomía por lo que necesita ser a veces un tratamiento el cual es muy costoso y ella no tiene los recursos para costear dicho tratamiento.
La situación económica de ella y de su familia, hace que lidiar con esta enfermedad del mar es muy difícil y más aún con la crisis que se ha generado por la pandemia causada por el Covid-19, es imposible costear el tratamiento para llevar a cabo para poder sobrevivir a esta enfermedad.
Cada sesión de quimioterapia tiene un costo único de US $ 100 (sin contar con los medicamentos de la quimioterapia).
El costo del tratamiento cada 21 días es aproximadamente de US $ 4,677.22
El costo del tratamiento por un año es aproximadamente de US $ 57,326.64
Cuando escuchamos la palabra “Cáncer” nos aterramos, no solo por la enfermedad en sí, sino por lo costosos que son los tratamientos.
Nunca pensamos que esta enfermedad puede estar tan cerca de nuestros amigos y seres queridos. Se dice que 1 de cada 8 mujeres tendrán Cáncer de mamá a lo largo de su vida, esta vez le ha tocado a mi querida amiga Juana.
Juana B. Guzmán Pichardo, tiene 55 años, tiene 3 hijos con quienes viven en Santo Domingo, capital de la República Dominicana.
Además de trabajar como Secretaria, Juana siempre se ha dedicado a impartir clases a niños y jóvenes de escasos recursos económicos, hoy la vida ha dado un gran giro, siendo ella hoy la necesitada.
Aún con todos estos inconvenientes Juana está dispuesta a seguir luchando y tiene muchas ganas de sanar y vivir y estoy seguro de que con tu apoyo podremos ayudar a ganar la batalla contra el Cáncer de Mama.
