Larue Bratcher was at his grow house on the evening of May 28th, 2020 and was minding his business at his shop when someone decided to trespass on his property and make an effort to pry his door opened. Before he could gain complete access through the door, warning shots were fired into the base of the door, striking and killing the suspect. After investigators saw how the door was partially pried open and receiving the surveillance video, he was not arrested for shooting through the door. However, he was arrested for having an expired growers license. He was charged with cultivating medical marijuana illegally even tho he previously held a valid license to grow but was told he had to do a lot of renovations to the building, which he was working on upgrades while all this happened. After 2 weeks, he was rearrested for Murder 2 because the charges had upgraded, and he was told that the stand your ground law didn't apply to him because he was committing a felony at the time by having an expired license and just like that, he was no longer the victim of trespassing and burglary but now he was the suspect of the murder of the intruder. Crazy how he went from getting praised on the scene from the cop and detective to now a murderer. Well I am here on his behalf to let you know that not only is he a veteran of the army who fought for this country and now has been diagnosed with PTSD, but he is also a family man who is married with kids. He is an entrepreneur and the hardest working man I know and he definitely doesn't deserve to be locked up like he's a criminal. I hate that someone had to lose their life that day and I'm sorry for the loss to his family but this should have never happened all together. I ask that anyone who care send up a prayer or good vibes for my brother who shouldn't be in jail right now.
