On behalf of the entire Peguero family I’d like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you. Thank you for the sincerity in your words, calls, texts , virtual hugs, and the outpouring of love and support on this page. The generosity and compassion our little town has bestowed upon us during this difficult time has been invaluable. It truly has been something special and unforgettable. I want you all to know it has meant so much . I can’t thank you enough. And to all the people that did not know my sister thank you guys so much.
On December 9th, we lost our sister, Kenny Peguero, to COVID-19. The best sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother and friend anyone could ask for. Tougher than any of the boys in our family, I once saw her and Cesar go toe to toe. Needless to say, Cesar lost that fight. A person always willing to give the shirt off her back, that loyalty and her innate toughness were just two of the many reasons why she made the best mother & father to her 4 kids, JD, Amy, Kevin & Joe. As we say goodbye to Kenny, we especially hold her youngest son, Joe Leon, close to our hearts, as he is now only 12 years old and left without a mother. He is loving and kind. A true Mama’s boy, Joe’s been left hurt and devastated by this tragic loss. During this difficult time, our hope is that our beloved Island Community can come together to help support our efforts to provide a safe and loving environment for Joe, as well as providing his mother, Kenny, with the service she deserves.
First the loss of our brother, Cesar, and now our sister, Kenny, is unimaginable. Thank you, Island Family, for your unwavering love and support during this difficult time.
