My name is Eli Sigler. I am part of a wonderful team that started DBN Kollel. The Dbn Kollel is a learning program for guys in our community who wanted to attach themselves to torah but didn’t feel comfortable in a traditional bais medrash setting. We started this program 2 years ago, and it has exceeded our expectations with the amount of guys who show up twice a week, every week, to learn. We do pay them $10 per night. We learn Monday and Wednesday from 8-9. We offer food, one on one learning or in groups, special guest speakers from all over the community to help and inspire the guys. This program means a lot to me and to the guys who show up. I have personally seen a tremendous difference in some of the guys who really needed a program like this. I’ve seen guys wanting to become more frum, more committed . I’ve seen guys who take the money that they get and use it to buy more seforim to learn more or invest it in a mitzvah that is dear to them. I've seen guys who never gave Maasser money who now do, and the stories keep going. The members in the Detroit community have been very supportive. Whether it has been to help out with food, to honor us with an inspirational shiur or to give money. We want to build this program even more and offer more learning opportunities to everyone in the community that could benefit from a non-judgmental, friendly, growth-oriented place of learning. We have some donors who will match every dollar made here on go fund me. We want to thank everyone so far for their continuous support. There are so many names B"H but you know who you are. =)
