Hi, my name is Devynn and this is for my cat, Herman. I adopted Herman with my partner, Sam, in February 2016. Anyone that has met me will know that my cats are treasured family members, and that Herman in particular is my "fur baby." Herman is now about 9 years old and has recently developed a urinary blockage.
We took Herman to the emergency vet on November 7, 2022 for initial diagnosis and treatment of his condition. He was hospitalized overnight and released home with medicine after two days, and on December 4th we had to bring him back again. A high percentage of cats that experience this kind of blockage will end up blocking again. The standard recommendation from veterinarians is to consider perineal urethrostomy at this point--a procedure that will surgically alter his urinary tract to prevent future blockages.
We are struggling to pay for his ongoing medical care, which will include two emergency vet procedures and one surgery, plus follow up care. His initial expenses were $4300, his treatment today will be $1500, and surgery can cost anywhere from $5000 to $6000.
Any amount donated will go towards covering the cost of medical bills for Herman and any time off I may need to take to care for him following the procedure. Thank you for taking the time to read and wishing you and your pets the very best.
