Mother, Sister, Daughter, Wife, Friend, Nurse Practitioner; Living With Multiple Sclerosis.

Dawn has been a Nurse for 33 years. 20 of those years have been dedicated as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in the care of children in a variety of clinical settings; including Family, Internal and Cardiac medicine. Her work ethic is undeniable and patients, family, friends or even strangers in need of help would agree across the board she is the type of person to give, and give, and give relentlessly. She tirelessly gave herself to her patients, families, and teaching.

Now she is in need of help to raise funds for a Stem cell Transplant (using her own stem cells) with IV Chemotherapy to help halt the progression of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She was diagnosed with MS Labor day of 2018. Unfortunately after her first relapse of MS she was left with some cognitive as well as physical impairments that robbed her of her true passion of being a Nurse Practitioner. Anyone who knows her would know what a crushing, life changing diagnosis this has been.

She has spent 7 months in rehab therapy to reclaim as much of her life as she could and has been very diligent with her care. Unfortunately, despite optimal MS treatment (with the strongest medication available in the US) with her awesome team of Drs , the disease continues to progress and she has developed more lesions in her neck & spinal chord- not to forget the multiple brain lesions she already has.

Sadly, her struggles do not end there; she also suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis, and has had to endure multiple joint replacements in her 40's. Both diseases are often caused by a "faulty immune system" and if you'd like to see more on either MS or RA; please click on the provided links.

Thankfully, with the help of a Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant:
There is an 80-85% chance of halting any further progression of the disease. Unfortunately, insurance doesn't cover this treatment and anything helps towards this expensive, yet necessary and life altering treatment.
