Dayzee Mae

Hi, my name is Suzie. My kids and I are fundraising for our 6 year old cat Dayzee.

She broke 4 bones in her leg while playing with her 3 month old baby sister, Munkee. We were there, but have no idea how it happened.

After hiding for 3 days, we were finally able to get her to the animal hospital. After X-rays, blood work, pain medicine and antibiotics, she went home with a cast.

Days later the Vet called to let us know he spoke with an orthopedic that said her break won’t heal without surgery, so 10 days after her injury we go see the surgeon.

During the consult appointment, he removes the cast to find her foot hasn’t been receiving any blood and no longer viable AND there’s an open wound where she has been losing blood which has been soaking into the cast. At this point our only option is to amputate up to half her femur.

Her blood work was great on November 3, but today her WBC is extremely high and she is severely anemic.

They will recheck her blood work in the morning and hopefully be able to go forward with surgery as scheduled. If not, they will keep her comfortable until the infection is under control.

This unexpected expense is stressful, but having a defenseless pet that still purrs and coo’s whenever you show her love even when she’s in a lot of pain is heartbreaking.

Dayzee.. she loves hiding and jumping out when we walk by.. she loves running around and playing with Munkee.. she’s so sweet, loves to cuddle and an awesome big sister..
