The Dayton Fraternal Order of Police Foundation, Inc., established in 2011, to promote education, health, and community throughout the Dayton area. The Foundation provides training opportunities for Dayton Police and other local jurisdictions, provides assistance to officers experiencing economic, physical, or other distress related to line of duty incidents, and supports the community by sponsoring numerous youth related activities. Previous expenditures include K9 training and the purchase of a K9 for a small jurisdiction, supporting NCCJ's Police and Youth Together program, providing coats for every child in DPD's Blue Elf holiday program, first responder peer support training, fitness equipment for police department gyms, providing meals and hotel rooms for the families of injured officers receiving treatment in Dayton, and many other worthy causes.
