I will be riding from New York City to Washington DC for the August 28th March on Washington 2020 in our Nation's capital. The event marks the 57th anniversary of the original March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom where Martin Luther King Jr delivered his powerful "I Have A Dream" speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
I will be with a group of roughly 200 riders as part of a protest and a movement to bring awareness and recognition to the existence of black lives in the cycling community and our world at large.
The ride starts on Saturday 8/22 and we will arrive in DC Thursday 8/27 on the eve of the March. We will cover about 250 miles.
As you know movement/fitness, photography and civil rights are three of my greatest passions. Daye Movement Mission is an organization that I have been working on the past couple of years. Our goal at Daye Movement Mission is to support various social justice and outreach organizations that are bringing about change.
Organizations that Daye Movement Mission is aligned with:
Blankies for My Buddies
Cycle for Justice NYC
Street Riders NYC
Central Park Conversations
Ride to DC
The funds raised will be equally distributed to the organizations listed above, less the expenses related to the ride and a small percentage for promotion of Daye Movement Mission.
Thank you for your support.
Peace and blessings,
Kent

I also wanted to share more information about how I came up with the name- Daye Movement Mission- and a brief history of why this is so important to me.
As some of you may know I am adopted and am blessed to have grown-up in a family who loved me unconditionally. What some of you might not know is the circumstances of my adoption. Race was the sole reason I was placed for adoption. My birth father is black and my (deceased) birth mother was white. Race has affected me since before I stepped foot on this earth. This is a major reason why I have been so ardently outspoken against both racism and discrimination my entire life.
Daye Movement Mission is being designed to combat socially constructed issues such as racism and to bring about much needed changes in our world. DAYE is a combination of my adoptive parents' names, David and Kaye. They gave me unconditional love and taught me the importance of faith, community and giving. This is my way of honoring my parents. I also owe this fight to my ancestors and I have a strong obligation to help create change for our future generations. This is my only option!
