Dayanna Pineda: Medical and Funeral Expenses

It is with a heavy heart that we are writing this. A young life was taken too soon.

If you ever had the pleasure of spending time with Dayanna, you were inspired to hear her educational goals of becoming a Biotechnician at the University of Quito. She was 20 years old and in her second year of college, and life was looking very promising as every door was opening and providing her opportunities to continue her studies.

More than ever, at this point and time, Dayanna's family needs your help. Dayanna had been experiencing severe headaches to the point where the pain was unbearable, and she went to the hospital in Quito. She was then transported to Guayaquil to be closer to her family. Dayanna was admitted to Luis Vernaza Hospital in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and was awaiting further exams to understand the severity of her health and possible emergency surgery. Dayana's condition rapidly became drastic on the early morning of April 16th, and her survival rate was very low. Dayana’s parents were by her side 24/7 in hopes of receiving news of Dayana’s health.

On April 16, around 10 pm, we lost our beloved family member Dayanna. Her absence has devastated Dayanna’s family and has left us asking many questions. We don't always know why the unexpected happens, but it rocks us to our core when it does.

Today we turn to your generosity, knowing that we can all make a difference in Dayanna's family’s life. All of the money donated to this page will assist with medical and funeral costs, and the rest will be given to her family to help with general expenses as they take time to grieve.

Es con gran pesar que estamos escribiendo esto. Una vida joven tomada demasiado pronto.

Si alguna vez tuvo el placer de pasar tiempo con Dayana, se inspiró al escuchar sus metas educativas de convertirse en Biotecnista en la Universidad de Quito. Tenía 20 años y estaba en su segundo año de universidad, y la vida se veía muy prometedora ya que cada puerta se abría y le brindaba oportunidades para continuar sus estudios.

Más que nunca, en este momento, la familia de Dayana Pineda necesita de tu ayuda. Dayana había estado experimentando fuertes dolores de cabeza al punto que el dolor era insoportable y fue al hospital en Quito. Luego fue transportada a Guayaquil para estar más cerca de su familia. Dayana ingresó al hospital Luis Vernaza en Guayaquil, Ecuador, y estaba a la espera de más exámenes para comprender la gravedad de su salud y una posible cirugía de emergencia. En la madrugada del 16 de abril, la condición de Dayana rápidamente se volvió drástica y su tasa de supervivencia fue muy baja. Los padres de Dayana estuvieron a su lado las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana, con la esperanza de recibir noticias sobre la salud de Dayana.

El 16 de abril alrededor de las 10 de la noche perdimos a nuestra querida hija, nieta, sobrina, y prima Dayana. Esto ha devastado a la familia de Dayana y nos ha dejado muchas preguntas. No siempre sabemos por qué sucede lo inesperado, pero cuando sucede, nos sacude hasta el fondo del corazón.

Hoy recurrimos a su generosidad sabiendo que todos podemos marcar la diferencia en la vida de la familia de Dayana. Todo el dinero donado a esta página se destinará a ayudar con los gastos médicos y funerarios, y el resto se entregará a su familia para ayudar con los gastos generales, en los tiempos difíciles.
