Daya, Mario and Salma

On the early mornings of January 1st, 2024, what was supposed to be the start of a brand new year full of celebrations and joy was cut short as five young lives were ripped from their families way too soon. These include 19 year old Dayanara Benitez Ocampo, better known by friends and family as “dayita” or “negrita”. Daya was a daughter, sister, girlfriend, cousin,best friend, an aspiring student with goals just like us all, Daya is the most beautiful person I have ever came across inside and out. She is funny, educated and super genuine we will forever love you princess. Fly high

Among the victims was also 23 year old Salma Diaz, also known as “bebe” and “salmita” amongst her loved ones. Who had only flew in from Mexico to spend new years with family . She was an incredible girl, very pretty, hardworking, a student in gastronomy, happy, fun, educated, a great cook, she was a great daughter, sister and friend, and girlfriend. over all just a beautiful girl with a beautiful soul and pure heart .Her light and joy contagious to anyone who knew her.

And 30 year old Mario Ocampo best known as “Gibi” “guero” by his loved ones. Who also came from Mexico to visit as well . He was a wonderful person, simply incredible, he was a worker, a happy person, kind, educated, charismatic and a GREAT father, son, brother and friend. He had beautiful eyes and was super handsome, his smile could light up a room. He was grand like his heart.

A Tragic car accident took the lives of our Beloved Dayanara, Salma, and Mario. They were vibrant souls, cherished by their family, friends, and community. Left beyond devastated, this GoFundMe is being set up as a gesture of love and support for the families of the victims as they navigate these incredibly tough times. Your contributions, regardless of size, will help cover funeral charges and ease the burden of these unexpected expenses. After losing 3 family members, finances should be the least of their worries. Our goal is to help fly back those we’ve lost back to Mexico so their families can say their goodbyes . This time should allow for them to focus on cherishing the beautiful memories of their loved ones. Our prayers and deepest condolences also go out to the family of the other occupants of the vehicle.
