Hey! My name is Amber Tiara and I'm the writer, producer and lead actress of my short film Day 14. As an actress and a writer, though I do not belong to any unions yet, I’m in full support of the writer and actor strikes happening now.
About This Film
This story explores the concept of the age-old question, What does one do when life gives them lemons? On average, it takes a person in a coma 14 days to wake up. The story begins with the main character, Tammy, receiving a call about her boyfriend, Jermaine, being in a horrific car accident, which causes him to slip into a coma. When day 14 comes and goes, she begins to lose hope and does everything in her limited power to save his life. She then finds herself at the mercy of his family, who have their ideas on how to handle this tragedy. Tammy soon learns that her efforts manifested a different outcome than what she expected.
Why Make This Film
I’m making this film to explore a new side of the entertainment industry. I have been an actress for over 10 years and now that the industry has changed, I want to create work for myself and other artists. My goal is to make this project under a SAG agreement and help my fellow Non-Union actors become SAG eligible. I’m a firm believer in going further together than going faster alone. By supporting me, you’ll not only be funding my first film and a big dream of mine, but you’ll also be supporting a group of artists who want to work and get back to storytelling. Because at the end of the day, that is our passion.
