Daxton's Journey - Little Warrior

Hi, my name is Brenda, and I would like to share my grandson Daxton's story and the start of his next journey.

Daxton was recently diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his liver, 9cm by 11cm. The tumor is too large for surgery at this time. Daxton had a biopsy completed this week and the insertion of a central line in his chest. Once the biopsy results are available, Daxton will immediately undergo chemotherapy to work at shrinking the tumor. Daxton and his parents, Melanie and Jared, have a long road ahead.

Daxton's first journey started when he was born two years ago at 23 weeks, weighing 1.2lbs. He spent the first 4.5 months of his life in the Nicu, where both his parents made multiple trips a day to be by his side in the middle of the Pandemic. Daxton has overcome so many hurdles being a micro-preemie. He has amazed his doctors & specialists again and again.

Melanie and Jared will be taking time away from work to be by Daxton's side. We are working on trying to fundraise for them to help support with the financial burden they are going to face over the next year to help reduce their stress so they can focus solely on Daxton as well as their own mental well-being.

Daxton lights up the room with his smile. He is smart, funny and determined. Daxton is a fighter and is the true meaning of his name "warrior who conquers great obstacles".
