Daxton Memorial

Dax was a fun, loving and very happy young boy. He had many obstacles to face through out his life as he was diagnosed with C.H.A.R.G.E syndrome at birth. He successfully had a cleft lip repair and we just finished several choanal atresia repairs to open his nostril so that he could have successful cleft palate surgery last Monday. The palate surgery went very well and was successful. However on the second step for his cochlear implant, there were several complications and Dax ended up coding, which means his heart stopped beating. They were able to stabilize him and it seemed he was going to be just fine. However, on the morning of day 2 he coded again by getting his ventilator tube free. They were not able to get the ventilator back in quickly enough due to the swelling in his mouth and throat from the surgery. He was without oxygen to his brain for around 30 minutes and suffered severe neurological damage. By day 3 he was without any brain function at all and was unable to breathe on his own. To avoid any further suffering the decision was made by his biological mother and father to remove the ventilator and let him visit his heavenly father. Daxton touched the heart of anyone he met or came in contact with and we're truly saddened and devastated by his passing. We're very grateful for the care his medical team provided. He received the best there is.  We're asking for help and support with funds to assist in his funeral and memorial services. As well as for personal family matters. Anything is greatly appreciated and thank you for your support and consideration in this matter.
