$5,900 raised of

Daxon Mann Recovery

Donation protected

My name is Vickey Guttormson, and I am organizing a fundraising effort for my cousin, Jason Mann's son, Daxon, who is currently hospitalized in Edmonton. Daxon, the middle child of Jason and Courtney, is facing a serious battle with a ruptured appendix and is not in stable condition.

The funds raised will assist with travel, lodging, and medical expenses as Jason and Courtney remain by Daxon's side during this challenging time.

We are all united in our prayers for Daxon's recovery, holding him close in our hearts, and sending healing thoughts to both him and his family.

Message from Courtney:

"I want to give an update

On Sunday Daxten was admitted to the Stollery in Edmonton for his appendix , due to complications and the severity of his situation we have been admitted to the PICU , It is going to be a longer road then usual for my guy but he is defying all odds and 1 day at a time he is healing and in the best care possible.

Were off the ventilator and he's down to a mild sedation.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this situation.

The Staff at both Provost Medical and the Stollery THANK YOU and bless you for your quick action and able hands .

Family and friends thank you for the love and prayers ."

UPDATE from Courtney

"Dax is stabilizing and day by day doing better. While somethings aren't quite there yet we are blessed for the things that are. He has been transferred out of Picu into the stollery

We have a good 3 days before he looses some mechanical assistance's, but were starting low impact physio on his legs and arms to help get him moving more.

We met his surgeon for coffee yesterday and he told us its a miracle he's doing so well. "He was a very sick boy , and i've never had a appendix rupture that bad".

Dax has had doctors pop in just to see and read his charts because they are all blown away by what he's been through, survived and how well he is healing.

Ducky is defying odds and bouncing back faster then expected.

One day at a time one goal at a time

Thank you for all the love and support ❤️ we are truly blessed to be small town people and have supportive loving family, neighbors, friends and strangers ."

Message from Courtney:

I feel there is an importance in sharing what all happened Sunday with Dax to give everyone clarity .

Daxten was taken into emerge in Provost where the nurses and staff quickly caught a high level of infection, and in X-ray saw there was issues with an appendix. They did not hesitate to call the Stollery and have everything lined up .

Stars was offered, but in the time it would take for them to get to provost.

It would be just as quick to drive.

So off Jason and I went.

Dax was admitted to the Stollery and he we sat in emergencies for 20 minutes and his EMT team stressed the severity of his situation and had us in to see a Surgeon quickly.

From there we met his surgeon and Jason went in with Dax while he was sedated, we were escorted to a private waiting area where 1 hour seemed like forever .

His surgeon came out to talk to us and by the look on his face, we knew it wasn't good news.

He told jason, and I that our son was a very sick little boy.

The sepsis had gone between his intestines and had twisted them and it was everywhere in his stomach.

During surgery to remove the appendix Daxtens heart what was beating as hard as it could and because of what was going on, it couldn't even pump blood through his body and our surgeon said his heart was basically overheating its self and he had to be resuscitated.

It took seven liters of fluid rapidly delivered to help his heart calm down enough that they could continue the surgery safely to remove the sepsis he then said he was going back to Daxten and he would come find us when the surgery was done.

But we needed to understand that it wasn't good

We then were escorted up to the PICU waiting room where we waited and prayed for our Ducky.

There is nothing that can prepare you for these moments.

All you can do is pray and lean on your loved ones and he is here and he is healing and we are blessed.

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LOVE AND SUPPORT ❤️
