**Update - October 2025**
Dawson has completed induction and is officially in remission! In November 2027 Dawson should be out of treatment!
On August 29, 2025, Dawson's mother, Chelsea, pushed for Dawson to get blood work as his lymph nodes in his neck and head were very enlarged. After receiving blood work, Chelsea received a call from his doctor instructing her to take him to the emergency right away. As the evening unfolded, she received heartbreaking news for a parent. Dawson, at 3 years old, has leukemia. Dawson's dad (Brad) immediately flew home from work in Ontario to be with his son. On Monday, September 2nd, they received the official diagnosis. B -Cell ALL ( acute lymphoblastic Leukemia).
The doctors and nurses at the Stollery Children's Hospital got to work right away!
Brad and Chelsea have received a fight plan for Dawson!
Although they have the support of the Stollery, once they can go home, another battle will begin. Chelsea will not be returning to work for a while in order to support Dawson as he receives his Chemotherapy and Fight plan. Brad, Dawson's Dad, will be staying home for 2 months to support as well.
Dawson has a brother (Jayden, 13) and a Sister, Mara (7). Life doesn't stop when you have a sick child. The government does not offer as much support as we had hoped.
By starting this GoFundMe , I am hoping we can give financial Support to Chelsea and Brad to cover house expenses and bills as life does not stop when the unthinkable occurs.
Dawson has the "Eye of a tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire, 'Cause he is a champion, and you're gonna hear him ROAR"
Help if you can; if not, please share so Chelsea and Brad can have some stability in this scary time.
God Bless you and thank you for taking the time to read their story.
***Update****
After 10 long days of staying at the Stollery Children's Hospital, Dawson got to go home! While he loved being spoiled by all the staff and family at the hospital, Home always feels better! So now he will begin his outpatient treatments. The road is long ahead but all this support that has been given to their family is unbelievable! When they speak of the village in raising a child they are speaking of the kindness and love shown from all of you! Thank you deeply . ♥️
