Dual Cancer Survivor desperately needs help paying down medical bills.
Hello. My name is Dawn. Three years ago I was diagnosed with Stage III, Grade 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in my right breast which had invaded my lymph nodes. I had a modified radical mastectomy, months of dense dose chemotherapy, 35 radiation treatments.
They found another, separate cancer in my lung and had to remove my right lower lung. Because of the grade and stage of the cancer, and my immediate family history of li fraumeni syndrome, the other breast was also removed. They also removed my ovaries because my breast cancer feeds off hormones. The chemo caused horrible peripheral neuropathy in both hands and feet and they ended up doing carpal tunnel surgery on both hands. I developed gallstones and had to have gall bladder removed. Finally, it was time to try to reconstruct my body a little and they did a Tram flap reconstruction and rebuilt me by removing flesh and blood vessels from lower abdomen to recreate some sense of breasts on my chest. This was a two part surgery a year apart. I am now three years out from diagnosis and seem to be doing good other than some fluid on my left lung that they believe is from most recent revision of reconstruction in October. I am now facing a lot of medical bills and thus, this gofundme acct. If you are able to help by donating, it is greatly appreciated.
Cancer has attacked my immediate family three times now. Once with my first son at 3 yrs old, (Leukemia) and then my younger son with (Rhabdomyosarcoma) at 6 yrs old and now me. Our faith in God is what has helped us endure the constant barrage of illness and helplessness.
GOD bless you.
