My name is Dawn Apio-Manoa and I have Pulmonary Hypertension. Pulmonary Hypertension is high pressures in the pulmonary arteries which causes you feel short of breath, fatigued, have a bluish hue to fingers and lips. Not to mention low oxygen throughout your body. I was diagnosed in September of 2008. Never knew what it was let alone told that I may have 5 yrs to live. Well, it's almost 7 years come September and since then, I have been on oral meds and intravenous meds as well. My heart is now working even harder to get oxygen throughout my body and my doctor says a double lung transplant is my next step.
There is no cure for Pulmonary Hypertension. I was told last resort is a double lung transplant. That's where I am at now.
Please help me raise funds to help with medical and living expenses. I will be moving to Seattle, WA until after the transplant since there are no lung transplant surgeries done in Hawaii. Any donations are greatly appreciated. My family and I are truly grateful for all your support.
