Dawn's Clinical Trial update

On Saturday, August 7th, 2021 Dawn was seen in the ER for a terrible headache, pressure in her eye, and she had lost the ability to see colors in her left eye. They did a CT scan and the doctor told her that she had a very large mass in her left sinus that was most likely cancerous, but they wanted to get an MRI to have a better picture. The MRI unfortunately confirmed what we were afraid of. She was admitted to Sarasota Memorial Hospital while waiting to be transferred to either Tampa General or Moffitt Cancer Center as a STAT/Emergent transfer. 
This afternoon, Dawn was finally transferred to Tampa General and will be seen by a team of specialists to start her extensive treatment. They are going to have to biopsy the tumor, remove it, and she will most likely need to have facial reconstructive surgery to repair the areas the tumor damaged. At this point, we don't know what other treatments are going to be required, how long she will be in the hospital or how long the recovery process will be, but it is going to be a very long road ahead.
I will update here as much as possible as I learn more. I'm honestly not sure how much they're going to let me see her at Tampa General thanks to covid running rampant right now, which just adds to the uncertainty. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to her and I checking on how we are both doing. Your support is appreciated more than I can say.

----Happy Halloween! Radiation of head tumor is complete. Now for 34 more weeks of Chemotherapy. Dawn was able to keep the radiation mask. We put it in our window for Halloween. Awaiting to Schedule new ct scans in the next few weeks. Thank-you for all of your prayers and support!!!!
