Dawns Rally against ALS

Dawn Tarrabain is a wife, mother of two boys a sister and auntie.  Dawn was born in Edmonton Alberta and moved to Salt Spring Island 15 years ago.  Dawn was just recently as of two weeks ago diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS).  Dawn has been off from work for the past three months.  Many of you will recognize Dawn as a front end supervisor at Country Grocer.  Todd her husband has just recently taken a leave from work to stay home and look after Dawns daily needs and to be there for his family while they try to deal with this life altering disease. 
This crippling disease can strike anyone and at present there is no known cure.
The  financial burden will be enormous for this family and will only continue to get worse in the months and years to come.   There will be many ferry trips to off Island appointments, adaptive equipment and communication equipment needed to help Dawn in her daily needs.  

Dawn first noticed something was wrong when she was having numbness in her lower legs, eventually she required leg braces to help stabilize her walking, then her arms starting going numb and she was having trouble with speech.  There were many visits to Doctors with cat scans and MRI's.  Then they were told the life altering news of her condition.  As you can imagine the emotional turmoil they have Been  going through is surreal.

They are fighting through this disease, but we don't want them to have to fight alone.
