Dawn Living Beyond the Diagnosis

As many of you may know, our dear friend and coworker, Dawn Hampton, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to her liver. Dawn is known for being one of our favorite hygienists and for her loud, infectious laugh.

She was not feeling herself at the end of March and was experiencing a cough. Her husband suggested they go to urgent care where she was diagnosed with post covid pneumonia and they advised her to go to the hospital for bloodwork. One test led to another and she received the diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer. She underwent 3 rounds of chemotherapy before having surgery on July 12th and she is currently undergoing 9 more rounds of chemotherapy. Her recent scans concluded the cancer has spread and doctors are discussing radiation treatment in the future. Although the prognosis of this cancer is terminal, Dawn remains extremely positive.
